He's just fresh off of getting paid to play baseball. I think he can afford to pay one year's worth of tuition at Ole Miss....and don't think that next year, if he turns out to be any good, that he won't receive a scholly then. This is a "low risk, high reward" for Ole Miss. If he flops...he flops--nothing lost--he's a walk on. But if his years playing professional baseball translate into a more mature player capable of handling the pressures of playing in the SEC better than a younger guy AND he turns out to have the better arm and better decision making abilities, then it's a steal for Ole Miss.
