1 USC 2 Auburn 3 Arkansas 4 OU 5 UGA I like Notre Dame. Maybe it's because I'm Catholic or because I have a respect for the standards they hold
Sorry, thorny, but I don't believe A&M students gave you or anyone any "up yours" signs! I'm not calling you a liar, but I believe you must have been mistaken. Are you talking about the middle finger? I think, perhaps, that you did not clearly see what they were doing. Are you aware that each class at A&M has a symbolic hand gesture (nothing ) that they do? Aggies are certainly passionate, but they are also very respectful.
Spring - He is talking about the Beat the hell outta _____. hand signal for the yell - it looks similar but no middle finger is involved. I used to go to a&m until i drank too much beer and they made me leave.
Spent too much time in the Chicken, did ya, Texan?! To the non-Aggies: That's the Dixie Chicken - a popular "watering hole" next to campus. I also attended A&M, Texan. But, I stayed away from the Chicken for the most part (can't say the same about the Interurban and a couple of other places, though!), and they let me outta there with an MBA.
Yes - the chicken and the rest of north gate did me in. Im actullay about to head to a friends house then to 6th street here in austin.......not much has changed in my life.
1. USC --take your paperweight "people's champ" trophy and shove it! 2. Miami --hoods, thugs and a haven for the lawless 3. Oklahoma --Stoops. He's a whinny little crybaby. 4. Texas A&M --Had a conversation with Skip for the Ole Miss game (game in our tent while tailgating for about 15-20 minutes before it started pouring) and he said that he's tried NUMEROUS times to revisit the rivalry but their AD said no because of "recruiting". Skip said that since we obviously already recruit well in the Houston area, beating A&M would only solidify our presence.
I'm not talking about the middle finger. I'm talking about the gesture where the right arm is raised straight up in a punching motion and the left hand is at the right elbow. I saw it clearly as about 1/4 of the band was doing it. And they weren't calling for a cheer--in TS the band was facing the field and the LSU band--at Kyle Field the yell leaders were in front of a section of only LSU fans (beyond the upper deck). OBTW, if any hand signal can be confused with giving someone the finger, maybe they should change it. Otherwise, someone will think that the university encourages uncouth behavior. While I was at LSU, Tiger Band played all of "Tiger Rag" after FGs and PATs. The Student section really got loud with the "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, A__hole, a__hole" crap. Got the song banned for at least 3 years, because it sounded like the band was leading obscene cheers. The appearance was all that mattered--Tiger Band was representing the university and such appearances were frowned upon. Again, I do have a thick skin. Individual jerks are one thing, but when you are wearing the uniform of the school, it simply is inappropriate. aTm is the only school that lowered themselves to that level. GEAUX TIGERS
