Opening morning way better than expected

    i dont know if i have eaten a teal. I know a wood duck, mallard, and redhead but thats about it....the rest of them are just ducks as far as I know.

    I think mallards are disgusting. I've tried soaking them in 50/50 water/vinegar and everything. Just too strong a taste. Trophy to shoot but not worth a shit to eat imo.

    Never eaten a redhed - duck, that it is.

    Soak them in a bitter red wine with some Tony's or Slap Ya Mama.....I usually do it for about 4 or 5 hrs. Redhead is a diver duck, so sometimes they can be fishy.

    When I lived up North we'd go Canada Goose hunting for Easter dinner, never got into the whole duck hunting thing tho, too cold for my blood.
