He is not. Great recruiter + average coach= bridesmaid. We won a NC in spite of Les not because of him. I loved the guy but not his coaching philosophy. For example, equal talent (two states over) with a great coach= many NC.
On thing Les was really good at was roster management. It is one thing to recruit well, but we never really had huge deficiencies at certain spots (like UGA did with no o-line certain years), which allowed us to be competitive every year. Not many staffs do that and Les did. You can nitpick certain areas, but you can also do that for every team.
I give Miles plenty of credit, so I don't disagree with the gist of what you're saying. This was a pointed comment to a specific demographic.
bridesmaids make 2 NC games in 11 years & named coach of the year inspite of himself - twice? hope you & the boys can help out for O as he isn't at bridesmaid status. .500 coaching record would be an achievement.
