What do you guys expect him to say? "GEE WHIZ--We want to go into La, Ala, and Tenn and take whatever no one else wants." Would you like Miles to be going around saying, "We have a lot of talent but I just don't know...." Every SEC coach is making big bucks and trying to stay there for a while. LSU has had about three very good years (maybe four) lately. But some of you sure got arrogant quickly. It wasn't long ago that other SEC teams kind of laughed at playing you and especially TIGER STADIUM. Remember Hallman? DeNardo? He got so frustrated that he didn't even want to finish the season. Stovall had his troubles too. The Tigers ARE good. They are promising. They still have the pride that LSU football players should have. But at this time, I think you are a little too quick to think of it as a true dynasty. :champs:

^^^^I don't believe I referred to LSU at all. I didn't say I had a problem with Orgeron making big promises he can't deliver on either. I know that LSU was not a very good team only a few years ago. I also know that we went out and highered two prior head coaches, which means we have alot better chance of success than somebody who's never even been a coordinator. This has nothing to do with being arrogant. It has everything to do with realizing unrealistic expectations when I see it.

It's easy to overstate how bad LSU was under Dinardo and Hallman, but it's simply not true. While we certainly didn't have dominant (or even very good) teams at times, we weren't exactly a perrenial doormat for the duration of those years either.

not sure about the other states, but that's about all he'll get out of louisiana.

what he should have said was something along the lines of, 'our goal is to go into louisiana and get the best prospects that didnt go to LSU'. evenstill, that'll never happen. he's got SELA to compete with now.:hihi:

I think having a loud mouth coach like him over there will spark up the LSU/Ole Miss rivalry. I can just see him making some crazy quotes the week before the game. :eek:lefire:

True. But give me a Saban type contract or any sec contract and I'll spend the next four years making some pretty unrealistic things too. :thumb: And would actually give my best shot to accomplish such. :)

This thread isn't about how great LSU is, its about what a joke Orgeron is. His antics are a gimmick, and if you're an Ole Miss fan, it should be cause for concern. Then again, if you're an Ole Miss fan you've really got nothing to lose, so the enthusiastic reaction to Orgeron's snake oil isn't all that surprising. I'm sure its a welcome change from the apathy that surrounds Ole Miss's mediocre program, however, if you're an honest fan you have to admit that Orgeron's Macho Man Randy Savage routine isn't what you build a program around.

Sure is entertaining though. And its gonna get even better when they go 3-8. Orgeron will still be throwing furniture around and acting like an idiot, but the boosters might not be so enthused about getting into a three point stance at a cocktail party. I can't wait.

Ole Miss has the players to make a small run at the West Title, imo.

But they won't because LSU and Alabama will probably roll them and Auburn possibly.
