I guess LSU and Ole Miss have kind of been in similar spots in the last ten years. In 1998 & 1999 all those SEC teams "kind of laughed" at playing us, much like SEC teams laugh at playing Ole Miss even today. Two teams with such rich traditions at their lowest points. Very similar. The only difference since then is that LSU: Won a National title Won two SEC titles Went to 5 straight bowls Went to 4 straight New Years day bowls Won 48 games in 5 years and Ole Miss didn't. Thats the only difference though.
the state needs to enforce the no pass no play rule, they aren't doing it. yeah i agree with ya. except for the drawer tying LOL :hihi:
Your personal ire for the man is palpable, but truth be told, Chuck Amato is the HC at NC State...Chuck Amato...the former longtime offensive coordinator at Florida State before handing the reigns over to Mark Richt? Hmm...Looks like he might have the know-how to get involved in the last second offensive game-planning, don't you think? In other words, if you think for one SECOND it wasn't Amato's call at the end of that OSU game, you're dreaming... That's like saying Will Muschamp would have been responsible for our defense having a bad game the past two years...Yeah, Muschamp calls the plays, but we know who is REALLY running the defense... Stop and think for a minute, and let that hatred for all things formerly Auburn subside...and think of this, as well...Tuberville didn't want to fire Mazzone...He was forced to let go of coordinators before the '02 season if I'm not mistaken...
What in the Sam Hill are you babbling about? The last thing this CFB fan needs from you is a lesson of the obvious about who the HC of NCSU is. As usual, you make bold assumptions that are in no way connected to the literal comprehension of my post - typical for you since you seem more comfortable sniping from a distance about nothing to do the the main point. It is well documented that "Red Zone" Mazzone made the back-to-back calls in the disaster against Ohio State and it's quite irrelevent whether Amato had knowledge of it beforehand...... it was Mazzone's idea. Amato was accountable for the gaffe, but you seem to imply that Mazzone should bear no responsibility for the mistake as OC? Amato stepped up like the professional he is but he never claimed he made the calls because he didn't. And what the heck does that have to do with AU anyway? Do you think Mazzone got his nickname by accident? Even an idiot could figure out that the "percentage-play" with a Rivers-led offense against the OSU D was not a belly or sneak play from that far out - especially twice in a row. In any event, the point was not about NCSU, the point was that Orgeron could've easily made a better, less risky selection for his OC than Noel Mazzone, IMO. Do you not agree? If you want to disagree, that's cool. But don't call someone else's credibility into question without a valid reason ........that's bush, "if I'm not mistaken."
Don't worry, the majority of his posts are made with the sole intent of attacking others and trying to make himself look high and mighty.
Woody Hayes? As in the Denver sports columnits Woody Hayes? What in the world did he do? If you're talking about the same one as me, I can see him fighting with the English language, but not going brezerk on people.
TE, Amato was never the OC at FSU and Richt was always the OC throughout the 90's as the complete OC. http://gopack.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/amato_chuck00.html
How young are you? The reason I ask is because you obviously have not heard of Woody Hayes, the Ohio State University Hall of Fame coach. Hayes is among the greatest college football coaches of all time. He is the legendary Buckeyes head coach whose stature is up there with the game's all-time greats. But he had his career/legend somewhat tarnished when he punched a Clemson player during a game. This incident basically ended his brilliant coaching career. If you know what Paul "Bear" Bryant means to Alabama fans, well Woody Hayes is on the same level for Ohio State fans.
Ogeez, my bad. F'in allergy headaches are killing me. I'm thinking of Woody Paige, the animated regular on 'Around the Horn'. Pardon me. I'm 26.5, btw. That's awesome that he punched an opposing player, though.
It was in a bowl game. Clemson held a slim lead. Time was running out. The Clemson player either intercepted a OSU pass to preserve the game or caught a pass for a first down which would allow time to expire. OSU would lose. Either way, the Clemson player ran out of bounds on the OSU sidelines. Hayes jumped in his way, grabbed the jersey, and punched him. OSU coaches and players immediately stopped him. But it ended his career. Good coach/brilliant historian. Poor loser.
