A news release from OU does not name the players, but News 9 sports director Dean Blevins says one player is starting quarterback Rhett Bomar.
The release says an investigation by the university found the two players were paid to work at a private business and were paid for hours they didn't work. OU said the two are being permanently dismissed and will not be allowed to return to the team at any time.

It's Bomar and Oline JD Quinn.

Bomar has been suspended for the season. Apparently Bomar was paid $10,000 for a job this summer in which he didn't do any work.

I watched OU a lot, and I never thought Bomar was worth a damn anyway. Looks like it's back to having a 3-4 loss season for ole Stoopsie.

Bomar improved greatly throughout the season. I don't think he is as good as our 3 qb's though. He actually had a good season in terms of numbers.

Wow, this changes things quite a bit, both in the Big 12 and nationally.

OU's biggest edge over Texas---a returning QB set to have his best year ever--is now gone (well, there is that Adrian Peterson kid, too, I guess). :)

This definitely takes OU down a notch---still may win the Big XII, but an undefeated season...I don't think so.
