Well... We have never had a problem scoring on them... As weird as it may be, the last 2-3 games, we have had trouble scoring 19-7 24-21 etc...
I simply don't see the Gators being as good as they were last season. And last season they weren't all that great to begin with. They have lost their best rusher, their best linebacker, and will have to play true freshmen on the defensive side of the ball. If Meyer thinks that the defenses in the SEC are going to be easy to beat, he is in for a surprise while Leak get splattered like a bug on a windshield.
Florida only beat East Michigan, Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas, MTSU, South Carolina, and FSU (anything goes with rivalry games) last year. I'm going to buy into a little of the media hype and predict that they will chalk up at least 1 or 2 more wins on their 2005 schedule. But you're right, they have no running game, hence the urgency of pass protection against Leak. I hope I'm wrong about my premonition though. I hope they turn out to be absolutely horrible. Or at least highly ranked up until the point when we embarass them, boosting us further up the polls.
OK guys....remember.....I got no dog in this fight. The Gators have a new coach. They think he has a better resume' than Miles. The Tigers have a new coach. They think he has a better resume'. The LSU talent level looks great. The Gator level ain't bad. The Gator qb is really good. The LSU qb that returns, has a lot of promise, but hasn't REALLY proved out. So far, the Tiger leadership does have questions, even among the Tiger faithful. Lots of the Tiger nation believe they will win. Don't you think the Gator nation feels the same way? I guess that is why they play the game. (BTW) G--O---------------TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But isn't Charlie Strong still their Defensive Coordinator? If I remember correctly, they didn't have that great of a defense last year and I don't see it improving much this year. I guess UF is counting on Mountian West kind of offensive numbers this year? I don't see it happening.
It won't matter... come October 15, they still won't respect us, but will be making hundreds of excuses on why they lost to us... (for one thing... we will not beat them... they will have beaten themselves in this game... I can see the future..)
:hihi: That's a good point and I have a strong feeling you're right about that. The point of the thread is that the Gator fanbase is buying into the media hype in a big way. No way you can even start such a list without putting the UF-LSU game at the very top and it's asinine to think otherwise. At first I thought it was just an SEC East slant, until I saw Bama on the list. What a freakin' joke ! Chip, like you I believe UF has lost a lot more than the pundits are letting on. At best, I see UF as 3rd in the East and if true, that would make Meyer the bust of the year in coaching. Of course, the media will find some way of excusing it all with their typical 20/20 hindsight vision. But it won't diminish a couple of the azz-whuppins the Gators are bound to receive this season.
