The idea is to not be one dimensional and I'm pretty sure Crowton's goal is to evenly distribute our offense between passing and running the ball, but, I agree that keeping the ball away from Tebow and Florida's offense had to play a part in the way our offense was grinding out yards to keep the clock running. I suppose our weak passing game also kind of merited a 1-d attack. Getting the win against Florida was big. I'll take an ugly win against one of the best teams in the nation any day. I'm concerned about our offense not being able to throw the ball downfield, but taking that out of the playbook helped wind down the clock. Our OLine and running backs took ownership of the victory and got it done. I'll chill and look forward to the next game. Kentucky is going to be our next pain in the ass. I'm hoping to see a more dynamic offense because if we have become a one dimensional team, it will only take a few miscues or defensive breakdowns to keep any team in the game with us.
Yes, I agree. Just wondering who appointed the preachers here to point such things out is all. Who are you anyway?
Define "outplayed". I mean, the stats were good for both, LSU ran the ball effectively and completely dominated the TOS in the 2nd half. Both teams had pretty minimal turnovers and penalties. I'll grant you that LSU did not have a consistent, effective answer for Tebow, but most teams that face him the next couple of years will say the same. Flynn also settled down nicely in the second half, nice to see him getting some mobility back as well (on that 17 yd scamper on 3rd and 18).
LSU is outplayed if there is even one second of the game in which it is not obvious to all that they are the absolute best, most dominant force of all time (to some people anyway).
thank you! 28-24 is the ONLY stat that counts! why are people obsessed with TOP, rush yds, and pass yds?
I watched the LSU/Florida game with some neighbor friends. The general consensus during "happy Hour" was LSU was as good as advertised, they were at home, and that LSU would shred the Florida defense (Florida having given up 20 points or more in each conference game). When that didn't happen in the first half, the "outplayed" syndrome set in, mainly because of what we THOUGHT was going to happen. I'm not sure either team got "outplayed". Tebow does stand out in a crowd. The wives' thought he was a "little cutie". His will to win will keep the Gators in many a game. I still think LSU is the team to beat this year and I hope you prove me right, but I would also add, from what I saw, you can't afford any let downs on your run to glory.
Outplayed? This sounds like the same bull**** I heard in '03 after the first UGA game... we all know how that ended.
Hey folks, reality check time.... We just beat one of the top 5 teams in the nation. ( yeah, I know, but screw the polls for a minute ). Be honest and ask yourself this question,,, do you really see a team in the top 10 that the Gators couldnt match up against...I think the answer to that is a BIG NO! Had the Tigers not created stupid penalitys, dropped footballs and missed Fgs, I believe LSU would have won this game by 10 or more, trust me..I think the team knows it too. If we dont beat ourselves this year. the Tigers have enough talent to go "dare I say it"...undefeated! Dont laugh, its not out of the realm of posibilitys, and if you can pass through the whole SEC with that kind of record, nothing on Gods earth can stop you from being number 1 at the end of the year...."But, yourselves" :helmet:
