True enough, our safety play and corner play for that matter, really took a nose dive this season, but then again, Mo, Taylor, Mathieu, and Brooks are not easily replaced. How much of this can be explained by the departure of Cooper and the loss of talent? 2 thorpe's in a row, won't be a 3rd.

When you think about it, especially 2010, Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne, Tyrann Mathieu, Brandon Taylor, Ron Brooks, damn, that could possibly be the best defensive backfield in NCAA history, definitely LSU history.

That is why we should appreciate each team for what we have. In fighting about the O and JJ vs JL the last couple of years many did not enjoy what you correctly say may have been (along with 2011) the best defensive backfield ever.
