Peabody, if Cal would have flown into New Orleans or wherever you fly into for a game with USM they would have been branded as nuts, everyone else was heading in the opposite direction.
Oregon improved drastically? You mean like the 3 point win over Stanford, non-dominating win over terrible Washington, and losing 3 in a row to finish out the season? Oregon's wins this year: Idaho (38), Washington State (3), Arizona (14), Stanford (3), Washington (25). Kansas did not regress. Their schedule simply got tougher. Kansas only lost one game to a team that did not make a bowl, and that was Nebraska in Lincoln. KU's wins were: Tulsa (18), Toledo (49), Kansas State (3), Missouri (17). KU lost just one game by double digits. That game was OU in Norman and it was a 14-10 game at halftime. I do admit that Oregon was a little bit better, but not that much better. You have to take into account that Oregon was playing Cal in Berkeley while Texas played Kansas in Lawrence. Big difference between home and road.
I think its a crock of sh*t too, i would like to se where Mack Brown put Cal? Lower them to increase UT's odds of the BCS bowl ?? Its not out of the question.
You would fly into Hattiesburg(home of USM), storm was gone and the sun was shining that Thursday in Hattiesburg(scheduled ESPN Thurs night game). Of course no one knew where it was headed until Wednesday, and that would have been too late to make a decision. We can't say Cal shoulda played now, when some of us were complaining when Auburn didn't reschedule our game with them. cajdav1: read- I agree with you.
I was reading the Sports section of the USAToday yesterday and they had a breakdown of the votes from 3rd thru 8th and it was apparent that some chicanery is going on with the voting process. How the hell do you all of sudden place Cal in 8th? Or Texas get a 3rd place vote over Auburn, which they didn't have before?
This guy's a whiner, he should keep his mouth shut is what he should do. ............This week.....Last week California .......2nd.....0...............0 .......3rd.....1...............0 .......4th.....27............39 .......5th.....17............16 .......6th.....10.............6 .......7th.....4..............0 .......8th.....2..............0 Texas .......2nd.....1...............1 .......3rd.....3...............1 .......4th.....18.............8 .......5th.....23............33 .......6th.....8.............10 .......7th.....5..............6 .......8th.....3..............2 Hey these guys get to vote the way they want, several coaches had already been ranking Texas pretty low, maybe the coaches who wanted Texas in the Rose were trying to offset the ones who wanted Cal in the Rose and already proven it by where they had ranked Texas. Plus, I think all coaches know this is the only vote that really counted so they may have actually did their homework and voted on the facts. Did he call out the guys who voted Texas at 7th and 6th also, I doubt it.
Or the guy that voted Cal third to try and offset what voters for Texas might/will do? This proves that the system doesn't work. There are too many biased people. Some biased one way, some biased another way. Many people voting Texas low and many voting them high. Same with Cal. I'm happy that we got into the BCS, and I think we deserve it more than Cal, but this really proves that the system doesn't work when you have people on both sides doing things like voting Texas 9th last week, Texas 3rd this week, or even Cal 3rd this week.
