Yes. That is one of the creepy parts of this story. His car was found near the Susquehanna river, and the hard drive from his computer was found in the river, but was too damaged to recover any information. His body was never found.
Another creepy part of the story is that in 2002 when McQueary witnessed the shower incident, he was a Graduate Assistant. The following year, he was an official staff member. Now I try not to cry conspiracy, but there are a lot of strange things coming out......
but that wasn't the original guy investigating (the detectives), this was the District Attorney, Ray Gricar, who decided not to press charges after evidence that Sandusky had molested a young boy was brought to his attention in 1998. Seven years later, in 2005, his car was found abandoned, and his laptop was found in the Susquehanna River, without a hard drive and damaged beyond repair. Police discovered that before he went missing, he had searches for "how to destroy a hard drive" and "water damage to a notebook computer," saved in the history on his home computer. He has never been found and he was declared dead this past July after a fruitless search never turned up his body. So yeah, it makes you wonder what drove him to disappear like that and destroy his hard drive, was it connected to this Sandusky child abuse cover up, or was it something else? But the bigger issue is: Why didn't he prosecute Sandusky back in 1998? If you look at the Grand Jury report, under "Victim #6," this was the second of Sandusky's known victims, and the police were notified about the abuse by the mother of the boy. Two detectives investigated, and their investigation included another child who Sandusky had abused in a nearly identical manner. The two detectives even listened in on the phone conversation with the mother of one of the boys and Sandusky, where Sandusky admitted the following: Then Sandusky admitted this to investigators: why wasn't he prosecuted? because the DA and the Police Chief: and who was in charge of the campus police? none other than the University VP Gary Schultz:
I understand. But what I'm saying is that the university may require that the reporting go through prescribed channels.
