O Line was pathetic yesterday. So was the defense, again.

Went to my friend’s house he has the ticket and the only ticket channel that would come in was 702. It shows all the games at the same time. All the others were searching for a signal. Not the best way to watch the saints. It was like watching the game on an Ipad from across the room. He was pissed. :cuss:

Not so bad as you would think (the defense, I mean). StL had 3 points with 90 seconds left in the second. Then, a blocked punt gives them the ball on our 15. Touchdown, then on the next play, the offense gave them the ball back on our 38. Throw in the pick 6, and you find that the Rams only put together two scoring drives. Plus the defense got a turnover and score, and at that point, there was plenty of time to get back in the game. But the offense played with no urgency all day, and as you correctly said, the O line was pathetic. Defense could have been better, but I'd say this one was more on the offense.

St Louis came in averaging 9 points a game and had the worst run defense in the league. Yes. It was that bad.

I wish Atlanta had your running back depth. Especially given your not going to be using them.

    Heh.

After all the preseason hype the Falcons aren't all that either.

True, but Tusk is right. Payton has very little patience with the running game. If we don't start out averaging 4 yards a carry, he will basically abandon it; using it not as a weapon, but just to keep the other team honest.

It doesn't help that our run blocking sucks. Although the entire line had an abysmal outing both run and pass blocking on Sunday, I'm thinking that was just an anomaly. Before then, Dela Puenta had a couple of decent outings replacing Kreutz when he was injured, so hopefully, he's the answer at C.

There are other teams to root for, if you're sick of the Saints.
