Actually, he should, because he really wasn't but that is neither here nor there at this point. I know what you meant though.

Not me only. The terrorist threat is real and extraordinary measures are required. It could be your daughter's plane that gets bombed or her mall they decide to park a car bomb next to. You can't be a "Rex Paul" guy who thinks you can ignore it and it will go away.

im all for it. and it provides for much more that "warrantless searches". some main ones being--roving fisa, sharing foreign intel between gov agencies, getting grand jury info and created many new criminal offenses concerning terrorism.

Getting agencies to share intel has proved to be extremely difficult. The CIA don't like to share with the FBI and vice versa. Never have...never will.

And there's a big hole in lower Manhattan that proves it.

Of course that's assuming Bush and Cheney didn't do it.

its a lot different after 9/11-- fbi is intelligence agency, new infrastructure has created and laws/regs were changed. they share a lot, probably still dont like it though.

Another post put the number at 40,000. Can't seem to get the numbers right huh guys? In view of the fact that virtually nothing has been mention by the media of any abuses, and no investigation has been called for, I have to assume they were fairly minor.

Trust me. It's not. It was SUPPOSED to be, but it ain't.

..and what they DO share....they don't like sharin'. It's a problem that has been addressed alot since 9/11 but doesn't seem to be fixed.

After 9/11 George W. Bush met with the CIA and the FBI to try an open up info and intel sharing between the agencies. He got them all in a big war room and ordered them to share intel, etc. They nodded their heads. When they broke the huddle, the CIA went to one far end of the room and the FBI went to the other...like oil and water. This is indicative how the CIA and FBI are with sharing intel among each other.
