Because the Tea Party dominated Republicans refuse to to negotiate or compromise, which is the keystone of democratic government. Ignoring that half the country does not adhere to their politics, they insist that it is their way or the highway. Thus they are marginalizing themselves, as you will see in November.
How? They have already outsourced all of the jobs that they can. Giving them more cash just creates more jobs in Mexico and China.
raising taxes on corporations would be a job killer but it isn't going to happen. in fact about one of the only things that the dems and repubs are agreeing on tax wise is that the corporate tax rate should be lowered from 35% to either 28% or 25%, depending on whose plan you espouse. personal income taxes need to be raised on those earning more than $250,000. personal income taxes are not job killers
What about those small operations that file as Sub-chapter S? I believe they are taxed as personal income. Those making more than $250k/year would be hit with a tax increase and in that case it would be a job killer. These small mom & pop operations (farms, small craft businesses such as plumbing contractors etc) create many jobs. If you recognized that in any change in the tax law then there would be room to discuss.
