Re: First official baseball head coach candidate And who are you thinking we should hire? Luring big time coaches from big time baseball programs isn't very realistic. This guy sounds pretty good. He was a pitcher in the pros, an area we need a lot of work at.
Wells confirmed that he will be interviewing soon. (prolly old news too heh) “I’m going to come down there and visit with Coach Bertman some time this week,” Wells said. “Right now, I’ve got my guys doing their exit interviews with me, and I’ll be doing that for the next couple of days. But I would expect I will go down there pretty soon. It will work into his schedule.”
Re: First official baseball head coach candidate Of course it's realistic, LSU is the best big time program in the country. It's not too far fetched to assume Skip will offer top pay so why isn't it realistic? I believe Skip will hire from among one of the Super Regional teams or maybe even from among the 8 CWS teams.
Re: First official baseball head coach candidate The guy does sound pretty good. Would be happy to have him if he's the guy. But if I had to choose, Bianco #1 and Wells #2. It just looks to me like the football search. We've never eben ina better position to hire a football coach and once all is said and done, we hire Miles. That would be comparable to hiring the College of Charleston coach. Does that blow your skirt up?
