    I didn't appreciate what MLK said because I was only aware of the news coverage of the civil rights movement. Later on in life I actually read transcripts of what he said. As time passes, I was really hurt by the drug violence that caused the deaths of many young black kids on this day honoring non violence.
    New Orleans is getting better, but I wonder how many black people are going to get shot by fellow blacks in America today. No one gets it anymore.

    I doubt many of you, my friends will listen to the speeches....and that's OK. I just started this thread to get people thinking, not about politics, but about human dignity since we're all created spiritual equals.

    Some of the songs you'll probably like though.

    Thanks especially goes to any armed forces veterans many of whom died to protect the right to free assembly, freedom of speech and a free press. No one thinks of their great sacrifice much anymore but I do...even though I never served myself. Here's to y'all...
