Hey Tiger fans, Husker fan here who wants to clarify something... It wasn't "Nebraska" who didn't want Pelini. The fans wanted him and the players wanted him. It was our idiot Athletic Director who didn't want him. The A.D. was fired earlier this week and Husker Nation really wants Pelini to return to Lincoln. Geaux Tigers!
Just a heads-up, I'm a Husker fan from Huskerpedia where you guys are starting to get some press! Around here most of us have this really bad man-crush on Bo and dream sweet dreams of TO dropping the current staff down a very deep well. Just like all fans of storied programs who may not be quite what they were we're fortunate enough for one of the architects of that success to be back at the helm and I believe that gives us a biiiiig boost! Incidentally, the majority of Nebraskans believe that there's one thing that made Nebraska great: the WALK ON PROGRAM. It was one of the largest in the nation and it recruited a lot of Nebraska kids who developed late or maybe weren't the greatest athletes but they gave everything they had every day in practice and really pushed the starters. They set the standard for effort, passion, hard work and drive which lifted EVERYONE up. And frankly, we got a TON of depth from the walk on program especially on the line. For instance, that '97 champoionship team had 7 out of 11 starters on offence from the state of Nebraska and almost half were walkons. TO is DEAD ON about getting the walkon program back to where it was - once it's back Bo will really have something to work with regardless of how hard it is to recruit nationally for the additional missing pieces. BTW I'm rooting for an LSU/SFU MNC game! - M
