He walked in a management class for sure, the entire class clapped and he said "I hope your still clapping at the end of the season"
If the guy can come in and stop the rollercoaster ride of up-and-down seasons, be a consistent winner (not NC stuff, just winning), help graduate a couple players for once, and be a steadying influence on the program, then it will be a huge success. LSU has not had consistentcy in the basketball program for nearly 20 years now.
I hope he is ready for a rabid fan base because if he can return LSU to the glory days of the 80's he will have a PMAC filled with a bunch of lunitics.
This is a great pickup. Two things i've notice, Coach Johnson has gotten better or at least stayed at the same winning level every year as a head coach. Also i've peeked in on a few of stanfords boards and everyone seems to be pretty upset the AD let Coach Johnson go! The big question is will he keep BP or will BP stay? BP has got to be looking pretty good to some of the mid major teams who need a new coach. Anyone know if there is any truth to Bobo Morgan trying to get out of his LOI???
I agree, I could care less about the final four, anything after a winning season is gravy! You hear that Gumbo? You were wrong about Memphis not in the final four now btw! I also hope you get over John Brady, its amazing to me just how bitter you seem to be about that whole thing, I read at least 3 comments along those lines in the new coaches thread!:rolleye33: CNS yelled at his players here also btw. Or will they, I hope so but call me skeptical. Another poster brought up during LSU basketball glory days football was down. The whole fan base was in search of a winning team which turned out to be basketball followed by baseball. Will the whole fan base support basketball like they did before football success? Stay tuned!
Our resident Austin bball fan feels the same way. Sane folks realized CJB should have been gone way back in 2002 or thereabouts. Trent Johnson has had 2 players leave his program while at Stanford and one is his son in law.
