I think it will be interesting to see if Miles wants to go with the more mobile qb.. if he likes a running qb better and JR and MF are close, then he could go with MF over RP because of the extra experience. It goes to show you how much NATURAL talent RP has in that he can compete with JR as a drop back, rifle armed passer, or with MF as a roll-out, option scrambler.. Either way it goes, if Miles picks between JR and MF because of their particular styles, and that person doesnt play well, then RP can step in either way....
I saw Ryan P at fan day. He was bigger than I anticipate, of course, he did strength and conditioning this summer. Its gonna be fun. I'm predicting Les Miles will start Shyrone Carey at quarterback and switch to the wishbone offense. RP will be moved to runningback and JR will play on the defensive line. Seriously, glad to see RP do well in the scrimage. Re qb, we were in a similiar boat last year. We'll have to watch, again, and see how it all plays out.
yes... when people hear that he is "mobile" etc... and don't see him 1st hand... they think he is just a little fella, but what makes him so special is that he is a mobile QB in a pocket passer's build... You are right... this should be a very exciting year, and anything can happen.
Let's see...the last 2 college guys who came out after their sophomore years where Randy Moss & Michael Vick. I don't see JR in that class. He needs two solid seasons at qb before ever thinking about leaving LSU early.
Has anyone posted this? http://www.nola.com/lsu/t-p/football/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/1124085436283230.xml
To anyone not buying the Perrilloux hype, it's not too late to jump on in. The kid is legit and he will be special regardless of when his time comes. It would seem impossible for Perriloux to ever be an underrated player after his regal recruiting run and all the national attention, but I still think his accuracy and football intelligence is somewhat underrated and underreported. Russell is our man, but Perrilloux is sharpening his claws very quickly - he may be an injury away from live snaps, but he also may be a few live snaps away from numero uno...
I'm glad to see Ryan doing so well, it can only help the team and push the other two QB's. I hope he keeps up the good work, he does seem to be a special football player.............glad he is a Tiger. :thumb:
Ryan appears to be doing quite well at practice. I can't believe how far he's progressed in such a short amount of time. Coach Miles & Jimbo had quite high expectations for him coming in & he seems to be exceeding them. I'm glad we managed to get him here at LSU. It's hilarious to read his interview now as compared to when he signed. Those classes he took must work wonders! It's good to know we won't have to be dealing with any Terrell Owens type attitudes on this team though.
