I won't argue with either of you, but 7-of-7 for 102 is solid--especially for a Freshman. However, my only question is: What unit did he scrimmage with and which defensive unit did he compete against. You know, because as good as our depth chart is across the board, I doubt our 2nd-team defense is better than the #1 unit of any other SEC team (ok...except for Kentucky, Vandy and MSU)....
Wow...Then it's a "catch 22" isn't it? I don't know whether to say, "Damn! He's catching on well!" and go on and on about how uncommon it may be to see that production from a Freshman....OR....do I say, "Damn! Our #1 defense is getting picked apart BY a FRESHMAN?!?! What are they gonna do vs other teams?!" :dis: Decisions, decisions, decisions....
I'm telling you, it's his accuracy. Great accuracy is very difficult to defend. He may not have a full grasp of the offense yet, but he can make us think he does with such an accurate arm. The kid is lethal and can put it right on the money 9 out of 10 times - you can't teach that kind of accuracy. Add in his mobility and his ability to buy time and you get excited thinking about his future...
