1. Re: Perrilloux cited for misdemeanor

Yeah. I've used a friend's ID to get into night clubs when I was a high school senior when I would go up to Baton Rouge to visit him at LSU.

Problem with RP that he needs to realize:
YOU'RE NOT EVERYDAY JOE-SCHMO!!! 90% of the people in this state are BIG LSU fans (the other 10% are either Tulane fans or from out of state) and almost ALL of them follow football religiously and KNOW WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE!!!!
  2. It's amazing how quick people are to throw the book at this kid. He tried to get into a casino with a fake ID. OH MY GOD!!!! Somebody please tell me how doing something like that is "tarnishing LSU's image." If anything, Miles' swift reaction to it shows he means business. But come on, let's not give up on the kid.

  3. This is not a big deal at all. Im pretty sure anyone on here has used a fake id at some point in their lives. Granted RP should know that more is expected from him and their will always be someone looking for him to mess up, their is no reason to kick him off the team. I do not believe he should have to miss a game or any team activites; maybe a little extra running or something to that extent. The punishment must fit the crime.

  4. I'm not giving up on the kid either. But he needs to understand who he is, who and what he represents and that he is a known personality in the State of Louisiana. Either he gets this or he won't. The guy is now developing a reputation for getting in trouble. I hope he realizes he's developing a Brand to his name that is hard to reverse. Look at Pacman, he's the poster Badboy for the NFL after 10 such bad choice events. This is very serious stuff in his early national football career development.
  5. it doesnt matter who you are, this is a crime on par with jaywalking. if a player just constantly got caught jaywalking, i would not care about that, no matter how many times he did it. it isnt cumulative, and no extra negative points are awarded for being a minor local celebrity.

nothing should be done, he should get no punishment whatsoever.

  6. I applaud CLM for his quick actions on these situations with the kids on our team! I think he is doing an outstanding job, and I'm very proud to call him our coach!!! :eek:ldskule:
  7. Re: Ryan Perrilloux suspended indefinitely

Kids are kids, athlete or not, but as we all know ball players at a major college, especially a successful major college are under the microscope and some argue they well should be.

Had this been some youngster in the band or on the ROTC drill team we would not hear about it on ESPN or on this board.

What does concern me is the fact this youngster has had two glaring issues with the law.

I hope he gets a grip and I hope he can overcome it. We sure need him but he needs LSU more.
  8. His previous incidents will hurt him. He hangs around bad guys and needs to go.

However, this ID controversy is funny. Normally wouldn't be a big deal if you or me did it but you would think he would know that he cant do that since he plays football. Which reminds me, what football player cant pull some strings?
  9. Pro, college, organized sports of any kind; unless you are MJ or Sir Charles, you do not want people thinking that you have a problem with gambling. This would make 2 very public incidents that tie him to activities which are prohibited by law.

People don't have money invested in him yet, thus he has very little leverage. RP would be well served to remember at this stage he is just another card in the deck. Keep screwing up and the REAL players will call for a new deck and find someone else to build a winning team with.
  10. How is he developing a reputation for getting in trouble? If I recall correctly, he never got in trouble with that federal investigation, he was merely questioned. So essentially, this is really his first run-in with the law.

I also think it is extremely unfair to compare him to Pacman Jones. Pacman is a PROFESSIONAL athlete. RP is a 20 year old college student who isn't even a starter yet. Let's give the kid a break until he beats up a stripper, ok?
