I saw in interview with a Falcon safety, and he was pi$$ed at Petrino for quitting on the team. Said if he saw him again, he wouldn't talk to him. Said he was an egotistical jerk (not exact words), but he didn't really know the NFL game but talked big like he did. Said he talked down to the players like they were still college kids, not real men. Aside from being disappointed that he quit on them, sounds like he won't be missed in Atlanta. I think he saw he was on over his head, like saban, and decided to hook it. I figured we'd give him a call if Miles had left, he'd have been on my list to talk to. I'm glad Miles stayed (and I assume he HAS STAYED).
From what I hear, when LSU interviewed the guy a few years ago, he was the most arrogant, cocky jerkwad and it was one of the worst interviews ever. Not to mention the fact that the night before the Monday night game he told the Falcons owner that he wouldn't want to be anywhere else shows me he is just as bad as Saban as far as morals and integrity goes. Wins + good x's and o's + good integrity > Wins + great x's and o's + no integrity
Damn, that's pretty harsh coming form Forde. You'd think he was a pissed off falcons fan. Not that i disagree...
Personally, I think he's a troll and he should have stayed at Louisville. Petrino signed a 10 yr extension to be the HC there, and left within 6 months. Playing in the Big LEast made it easy to turn the program around. The same can't be said for the brutal SEC. My gut tell's me that after 2 or 3 years (and 7-5 seasons) at Arky, he'll either be on the flaming-hot seat, or on his way to find the next payday. :crystal: :geauxtige :crystal: :geauxtige :crystal:
I bet Mitch Mustain wishes he would have stayed. He would have been a better fit for Petrino's system than Casey Dickhead will be.
I have no problem with Petrino leaving. I would much rather him leave then not have his heart in it. he could have waited until the end of the year, though, but that would have hurt recruiting. Which brings me to my next point, seems as if every job is determined at a time that helps recruiting but hurts another team. So why not have two signing period like other sports?
get off BP nutz . he is a sellout. he should have finished the season. im embarrassed thats he is in the sec. how can you say hes a better x's and o's coach then CLM is? he will be gone in 3 years.
I agree... kinda... but when will his heart ever be in anything? considering he had the knife 3 feet through Tubby's heart, then was interviewing and looking for a new job every offseason in Louisville, then this whole debacle in Atlanta... point being, the negative recruiting against him will be fierce and I don't expect much success from him in Arkansas, b/c he isn't facing the likes of UConn and Syracuse anymore.
lol hurt recruiting? the birds are cooked.he couldve waited 3 weeks out of respect to the players that he told he was in this for the long haul. BP is a bum!! i hope every team pounds his ass!! i dont see how 3 weeks will make are break the ARK recruiting class
Dead period starts soon and lasts through January 3rd so he needs to be able to travel and make some visits. he wont have as much time in just January. Plus he has to watch film on everyone and having a staff in place will make a big difference. And that takes time.
