He didn't say anything that any other coach in that position wouldn't have said and probably a lot less than what could have been said. He said what a majority of fans, players, coaches, and media have said for the last several years...........the system to find a true #1 doesn't work. In my convoluted mind, only a match up between USC and LSU in 2003 would have yielded the true #1. But let's ask the Sooners. :yelwink2: And no, I don't have an answer but clearly there have been enough problems for people to agree that revisions need to be made.
There's no use re-hashing all of this 2003 stuff. Hopefully, both teams will be there in Jan. to settle it once and for all.

Of course. Like I said it was the overall BCS ranking that was relevant, but they chose to focus on the AP.
No. But it gives you an idea of how he felt about AP's rankings in 2003. I guess so. He had just had his nads handed to him in the Rose Bowl. Did you expect him to say "Dayum, I'd hate to see what LSU would do to us?"
No more than I would have expected Stoops to wonder how badly the Sooners were going to lose to USC the following year.
