Maybe Joe could do the job when he's not touring, but I think you meant Bill Walsh, right?

The 49ers is one of the worst run organizations in professional sports. The DeBartolo sisters are cheap and they don't have a clue on how to run it.

    Go ahead Pete, RIP.

As far as I know, the Debartolo's haven't had anything to do with the 49ers in the past 4 or 5 years. John York owns the 49ers and apparently has run off many of the players and potential free agents with his cheap ways. even all of the daily amenities enjoyed by the players historically have been eliminated. the 49ers have truly gone from a franchise every player in the NFL wanted to play for to a franchise no one wants to touch. remember the Debartolo days when the 49ers would fly in private jets to road games? now, southwest and jet blue are providing the in cabin service!

Eddie legally turned the team over to his sister Denise DeBartolo York. She along with her husband John, own the team.

Eddie spent a lot of money on the 49ers. Sometimes too loose with the money, but had a better feel for the organization.

Pete Carroll isn't leaving USC for anything.

I wouldn't be so sure. His comments sound kind of familiar, and they were made before the 49ers job came open. You have to think there is part of him that would like to go back to the NFL to prove his critics wrong. All the praise being heaped on him at the college level has to be boosting his confidence. Will be interesting to watch.

I am sure he will talk to them but he isn't going to leave the 49'ers for arguably (right now at least) the greatest job in CFB after he hated the NFL in every way.

There's a story on this in today's LA Times.

Check out this excerpt. "Nightmare" for USC, indeed:

Wouldn't it be great if this happened? Wonder how much they'd love Pete then.
