Carroll says he's not interested in 49ers January 6, 2005 LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Southern California coach Pete Carroll, mentioned as a possible target of the San Francisco 49ers' coaching search, said Thursday that he has no interest in the job. ``I have not been contacted, I don't expect to be contacted, and I'm not interested,'' Carroll said. A former 49ers assistant and later head coach of the New York Jets and New England Patriots, Carroll has guided USC to consecutive national titles. So much for that I guess...Of course, it DID come from a Los Angeles AP writer... maybe he's in denyal.....
Nick Saban November 2004 "I dont know anything about any other job, I have no interest in doing anything else, I am happy here and my family is happy here"
Peterhead isn't going anywhere Carroll bleaux in the NFL. The only way SF would hire him probably is if he brought along the much-ballyhooed Norm Chow. In fact, I doubt Carroll goes anywhere (maybe to the bathroom?) without Mr. Chow in tow.
This rumor just won't go away. Now they've got USC alums and former 49'ers trying to lure him there. Maybe him saying "no" is just posturing to get everything he wants and then some - a la Nick Saban. I still say he's a fool if he leaves. LINK
If they give him control and a fat raise he'll go. He almost came out and said so without saying it. He can't imagine a formula? They will give him a formula that he will like.
