What numbers did Maravich wear with LSU? His freshman year, someone else had #23, so what # did he wear?

I'm not positive, but I think he wore #23. As a freshman, he didn't play on the varsity team. Freshmen were not allowed to play varsity. So, he probably wore #23 on the freshman team.
Can you imagine how many pts he would have scored if he had played as a freshman, AND had a 3 pt line????

No one is going to touch his records anyway, but Pistol Pete would certainly have averaged close to 50 points a game with the 3-point line. Today when a player scores over 30 eveyone is astounded that the guy "went off" with such a scoring barrage in a game. It make's Pete's accomplishments that much more incredible.

Maravich wore #23, #44, and #7 in his basketball career. I think Michael Jordan chose #23 because of Pistol Pete...

God Rest Pete's Soul in Heaven.

Pistol Pete may be the Greatest LSU Tiger of All-Time.
