Well I'm here because I am a contributor like you (Brett just hasn't posted that yet). If you take my money I thought I could express an honest opinon. I would note that a lot of TF guys are on my Auburn board and most of us there try to be good hosts to them. In any event, I wasn't trying to stir any pot. Did I say anything negative about LSU? I was just noting that those comments have become standard 'coachesee" whether it be Saban, Tuberville, Petrino or whomever. :thumb:
You never let go do you? Go find one post I made anywhere trashing LSU since the OSU board fisaco last Summer or quit making accusations. And lest someone new here misunderstand, the OSU story is not like you want to paint it but in any event I apologized if someone's feelings were hurt and have long ago moved on from there. I still post ocassionally on the OSU board as I did long before anything ever came up regarding LSU. One thing is for sure...if I were ever kissing butt here, yours would be the last.
And MY POINT, PT, is that you are an Auburn fan. Right now, it seems very strange to me that you and all the other Auburn types lurking about have such a fascination with OUR current situation, when 75 miles from where I am right now, there sits a very good Va. Tech squad just waiting to sneak up on your team that you should be more concerned with. We LSU fans took a pretty nasty hit this past weekend, and your comments about our situation, regardless of how "harmless" you deem them to be, come across as rubbing salt in the wound...especially when it would appear that you should have more pressing matters of your own to worry about. Don't worry about the situation here in BR. Our coaching search is in more than capable hands, spearheaded by an AD that won 5 National Championships in collegiate baseball as a coach...so he knows a thing or two about building a champion. We trust him implicitly with the future of our program and to hire the right man for the job. You just worry about Va. Tech. Frank Beamer is sitting behind a rock w/ a great team, just waiting to upset you.
Do you know the reason that all head coaches say that? What do you expect a person in that situation to say? I like it hear but if I'm offered a better job I'll take it. Everyone knows that is reality for 95% of coaches and 95% of people, but if he says it, he hurts his recruiting and team chemistry. Grow up guys. Just because someone leaves a job for a better one does not mean they are disloyal. You need to put yourself in the position of these coaches. If these coaches did what you are suggesting. Nick Saban would still be an assistant at Kent State, and programs WHO FIRE THEIR COACH LIKE WE HAVE DONE TWICE RECENTLY would never get a new coach. PROUD TIGER, if Auburn wanted to talk to Petrino and he agreed how does that make you mad? Just because he didn't mention it to the AD at Louisville. Why can't a coach have a preliminary talk about a better job when approached by the administration? Because Tuberville had not been fired yet, y'all hated Tuberville last year and were hoping he would get fired until people felt sorry for him and he won a bowl game. I'm sorry Nick Saban hurt your feelings LSU fans but live in the real world. I'm sorry Bobby Petrino was interviewing for the Auburn job. I hope we hire Petrino, and he beats Tuberville every year, and I hope he talks to an NFL club secretly one day and gets a head coaching job as long as he doesn't do it the week before signing day.
We've got a lot of people around here who need to go to the video store and rent The Godfather. They need to watch this movie, and if they get nothing else from it, they need to come away from it with one simple lesson: It's not personal...it's just business.
