I still think it'll be JDR. I'd rather take RC Slocum than Les Miles, honestly. The guy just gives me an odd vibe...and he got his ass handed to him coaching-wise the other night as well.
The bottom line with so many LSU fans is that unless we get Bob Stoops or Bill Belicheck, many fans on here will not be happy and will complain until the cows come home. Les Miles is a damn good coach who has done a fantastic job at OSU. But since he hasn't won 3 National Titles at that piece of crap school in Stillwater he is not any good. How soon people forget people ramming Saban for his bad record at Michigan State.
Les Miles may indeed end up being a great SEC coach, but he is not such a big name or proven coach. You also have to admit that the circumstances around Sabans hiring(after Dinardo) and now (after Saban) are worlds apart. LSU took a chance on Saban because not many wanted the job, while many here including me thought many more coaches would be fighting for what seems a great great job now. I will support who ever is hired and will be in the stands for every game as usual I just thought we would be able to be a little more thrilled over the next coach than I will be if it is indeed Miles.
Who the hell else are we going to hire? Les Miles is a big name at a big-time school in the Big 12. Michigan State is not any bigger then OSU yet that hire turned out to be fine. What people need to realize is that our school may be the #1 job in College Football but not every coach under contract wants to just pack up and leave at the drop of a hat. If true, I am VERY, VERY excited about Miles.
You have got to be joking, Les Miles is not a big name coach and he is at a little time school. Yes and Miles may turn out to be even better than Saban who knows, but we are not coming off of back to back losing seasons and 50 something years removed from out lact NC hiring a coach this time. Miles would definitely be a fall back candidate no matter how you chose to sugar coat it.
Not kidding at all. Hate to break it to you but Oklahoma State is in the Big XII Conference on numerous TV games and 3 straight bowl games now.....a big-time D1 school...not a Texas, LSU, or Florida but far from a little time school...if anything, that is the big joke. And I don't care if he is the 10th candidate or not....he is a damn good hire and this whole 28-21 argument was the same thing people bitched about with Saban. Still, people haven't learned.
