I don't think there's any way in the world Elway will get any backlash on this. If Tebow becomes the best qb of all time and peyton gets a career ending injury in the first quarter of his first game, you still won't be able to question his logic. Anything can happen and you have to go with the numbers. Numbers say this is a huge upgrade for Denver and makes their team immensely better.

i wonder if the chiefs will feel bad if kyle orton lights the earth on fire with his performance in dallas. i mean he doesnt seem that good really, but you never know.

The (obvious) difference is that Tebow supporters and critics have much more passion about their opinions regarding Tebow compared to Orton's supporters/critics.

Initially, I hoped Tebow would fall flat on his face in the NFL (and kind of still do) but all of the ridicule and hate has me pulling for him at times. That Steelers playoff game broke the twitter record for tweet/second when Tebow threw that GW pass. People care strongly about Tebow for some reason. This one guy in my office was "celebrating" that Tebow would be unemployed soon.

there are two reason people care about tebow.

1. they are really into media hype and love what they are told to love, and actually believe people to be talented when they are definitely not.

2. people who want sports to be one of the rare institutions in the world that is a true meritocracy. not racist, not sexist, not classist, not based on who you know or who your dad is.

this is why tebow is frustrating. he is terrible. but he plays anyways and people think he is good. same story with my long argument in the den abou the girl kicker. she cant actually kick. but idiots dont want sports to be a meritocracy, they wand it to be fake like the WWF. i do not like that. i dont want tebow to play, he is awful and another guy who is better should be playing instead. i also dont want danica patrick to drive in nascar when a superior driver doesnt have a ride. i know its about money. i dont want it to be.

people say "i like tebow, he is a nice guy". and that is fine. and good for him. but they also say "he is a great player". but he isnt. he is an embarassment. he cant thorw, he is a complete idiot and has no business playing in the league. its crazy. if you like nice guys that try hard i cn show you millions of them in the special olympics, all of them overcoming obstacles that make tebow seem like an infant coward.

same thing with the girl kicker. and danic patrick. she won one race in indycar, primarily because her crew calculated the refueling schedule perfectly and everyone else ran out of gas. she sucks. she cant drive. and yet she is a huge star. and she isnt even hot! its ridiculous. if we like people for being hot lets like a model or slutty actreess.

so anywyays, thats the divide. tebow is the kim kaardashian of the league. and i cant watch kardashian because there is nothing there. its pure mindless frivolity. and sports is the place to escape that sort of frivolity. but tebow and his fans ruin that. the one solace from the meaningless void of existence, and he ruins it.
