Well you can say that athletes don't deserve millions etc.. But if someone offers that to you, you will take it... These owners make money to pay it back... Trust me, they wouldn't make millions if the teams didn't make money... So if you don't want them to make so much money, don't watch... Teachers and everything like that DO deserve more money, but it isn't the athletes fault that the rich owner is willing to pay him
And he played in the Super Bowl with a broken leg, while watching his QB choke and turn it over twice in the redzone
I have heard that he is not in the top 10 highest paid wideouts. If this is true then he does deserve more money. Also the Eagles forcing him to sign a "secret" contract which protected them if he got hurt in the super bowl is pretty crappy. I don't think that I would have signed anything like that if I was him. His attitude may suck sometimes but he plays hard.
Contracts in the NFL are not guaranteed. The team is free to cut Owens if they want, thus negating the 'contract'. This is why the signing bonus and the first few years are all that matter in long term contracts. If Owens had a career threatening injury or loses the ability to catch the ball, the team would drop him in an instant, long term contract be damned. In reality, the only reason for the 7-10 year deals is so the team can prorate the huge signing bonus over the length of the contract.
I read an article on from someone that said that Mcnabb and one of the other players were in an elevator and Mcnabb tried to make a attempt to diffuse the situation and terrill owens went off on both the players and refused any part of letting go of his i dont want to talk to anybody behavior. Then he refused to talk to one of the coaches. Not someone whether he is underpaid or not on my team. These kind of people are viruses that will tear apart a team. I gaurantee you that San Fran was very happy the day he left town.
