My point, your smugness, is that every single preseason prediction has USC as their #1. Granted, they are the defending champs but you would think that one publication or forecaster would pick another team, if for no other reason than to have a shot at being the only one that was right. So Cal has been granted the NC by default and it's just not that sure a thing IMO.
