The reason more of our guys amd college players in general aren't drafted is because major league teams by and large can't evaluate talent worth a damn. The draft is a crap shoot and they know it. A majority of All-Stars are picked beyond the 30th round. They draft guys with the tools, but they don't pay attention to what they guys do with those tools. The case that most stat heads like me point to is Todd Van Poppel. Van Poppel had a 102 mph fast ball in high school but never learned to control it, and he had a losing record. If the scouts had taklen their eyes off their radar guns and put them on the balls van poppel was plowing into the dirt they may have saved the A's the millions Van Poppel signed for.
Kind of sounds like Billy Sadler to me. Remember how crappy his control was at 95? A lot of good his speed did us against USC in the CWS last year (A big blunder by Wiederhold).

Good news for us. All those guys should be back except Jon Z and Holt. I feel bad for Bumstead. Two years of dominating the SEC and a day two selection. Shows how well MLB scouts evaluate talent.
