    There ya go, just lie to yourself. It makes the harsh reality that much more difficult to cope with. Son, come Saturday, you will wish that it was UT or OM on the other side of the ball.

Look for alot of 5 yarders against Bama... that whole timing thing may cause the new C some trouble... and maybe look for a couple of fumbles from Croyle taking the snap to quickly trying to three step and fire.

Shula announced Sunday that Britt would have the start this weekend. As of this morning, I haven't heard anything that would indicate otherwise. In practices this year, Britt has taken about 40% of the snaps so while it will be a learning curve this week and Britt isn't a world beater I don't expect much of a let down in the center of the line.

Heck, the center of the line has been beaten all year long.

Honestly, this post could be placed on any Alabama forum and simply replace Brodie with Jemarcus...and it would be just as true....from the standpoint of pressure and speed.

How often has Britt made snaps in a huge game with a mean pack of DLmen staring at him wanting to kill his QB... just saying, there could be some exchange problems...whereas LSU has a decent OLine that should give JR plenty of time to 3 step... plus our starting C isn't out.

Britt hasn't. He's a transfer from UAB who came to Bama to play with his brothers. There is a good possibility of some exchange problems...and that was one of the primary reasons Croyle was left in the game against MSU even though it was well in hand...just to get that experience.

That's a valid point about the 3-step drop. I would expect Miles/Fisher to implement a lot of that for this particular game...if I were you, I would hope they would. You'll have the most success with that play going where?

He gets about 40% of the snaps from Brodie in practice...I dont see there being that much of a problem with exchanges.

Since Brodie does not line up in Shotgun often, and his Oline has been playing like crap... he is gonna have to drop and fire quickly to his recievers, b/c we are going to blitz a good bit. When Auburn did these quick passes to their slot wr and TE they got 6-7 yard gainers when thier player held on to the ball. JR isn't going to have the same problem, b/c LSU has a STARTlNG CENTER and a reliable Oline.

im not talking down about Bama... simply being a realist.

The only thing you are missing as far as our approach is how we play to execute the running game. And, by what I've heard I feel confident we'll have some success with it...if not some good success. You can expect we'll take at least 2-3 shots down field per half just to make sure your defensive backfield isn't cheating up to much.

Those calls will be made at the LOS. From what I've seen, you don't disguise the blitz packages as well as they can be.

You've mentioned having a starting center. That's good. But, it really isn't something that you can look at as far as handling pressure from the defense we field.

On the defense, when we line up in the 4-3 we play an "outside shoulder technique." Basically, it's designed for the DT's to take up at least 3 players on the OL and force the play to the outside where the speed factor of our ends and LB's take over. If you look at the games we've played and had success in the middle they play is being bumped outside the guards and then attacked from there. The success that can come from running in those gaps is if the OT's can get the DE out of their lanes. That hasn't happened a lot.

Here's where one of the main keys for Jemarcus is going to be. We play quite a bit of a 3-3-5 set. The scheme is difficult for most QB's to pick up because it's not easy to distinguish between whether it's a true 3-3-5 or it's just a nickel package with the LB's close to the LOS disguising the coverage scheme.

As example, against UF we'd put two LB's on the LOS and Leak would end up calling an audible. As soon as he did, we'd drop back in a nickel package and because of the crowd noise and very little time left on the play clock he couldn't opt out of the audible he'd called. To say the least, he was frustrated all day because he wasn't able to read the defensive scheme when they were on the LOS.

We'll be doing a lot of the same with LSU, I expect.
