i saw your post on Tidefans about the 3-3-5 scheme, and i do believe JR will have a hell of a time with the Tide defense. But if we can establish a decent running game behind Addai and Carey/JV, this will take alot of the pressure off JR. i think both defenses will keep the other offense in check. i just feel like Bama could be more mistake prone with the absence of Oline play and a relatively untested center. i see LSU coming out with a very vanilla offense to test Bama on our first possession, probably a run, throw, run... nothing deep. if we can manufacture some drives that keep your D out on the field for long periods of time, and can aggresively pursue Brodie and force some 3 and outs... your defense could tire, allowing JR and Addai to pick you apart.

Edit to add: i think TOP and FP will be invaluable assets to LSU

That is a very distinct possibility. I've said several times this week and still firmly believe that this game, as far as avoiding offensive mistakes, is going to rest on Brodie's shoulders. Last week was the first time I've seen him "shaken up" since his sophmore year. And, the reason his head was not in the game was two fold. One, Closner and Croyle have been best of friends for several years now. Seeing JB go down with a broken leg had to get in Brodie's head considering he's missed playing time with season ending injuries twice in his career. Secondly, with that weighing on his mind the rush he was avoiding just exasperated the frustration.

UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE WEEK...for both teams. Based on results this year the TOP seems to be our advantage.

As to FP, on the series we can't score on we will have to get the ball to at least mid field. If we find ourselves punting from around our 30 yard line it'll be tough day for the defense.

Just as a side note: The recruiting efforts of this staff have centered on shoring up the defensive side of the ball along with building skill positions. I mention this because we are in a position to substitute more frequently on defense than offense...therefore, having a fresher unit on the field during the later parts of the game.

This staff has really centered efforts on the OL this recruiting season. By all appearances (if the cards fall into place) it'll be one of the best OL classes in school history.

I would say that Brodie is in for a long day but Bama hasn't moved the ball with any consistency the last month. So he probably will come out of the game ok due limited time on the field.

That's not entirely true. Between the 20's, we've moved it quite a bit. Inside the red-zone, we've stalled. Last weekend was the first time we've had problems moving the ball (about a 100 yards less than our average) but that is attributed to 4 TO's.

HOLD ON THERE BUBBA. I don't think that "mighty" Bama offense really wants a lot more of that OM "D". It wasn't the "mighty" Bama "D" that was the Reb qb. You know the one. The one that gets TWO delay of game calls on first and goal. If you think two field goals will win against this bunch of Tigers, I admire your faith. However, I would recommend about a 55 gal drum of KY jelly be kept on hand (or butt)

Obviously, the key for us will be Brodie's quick, short passes and the D. Also, I have read that LSU has been pretty mistake prone, if this is true then it could cost you as well. Of course, the reverse is also true.

Well, if we hold Alabama to one touchdown like Ole Miss did I think all the Tiger fans on this forum will be very happy with that performance.
