It is you that no one agrees with. We understand why the coach picked a lineman.

I wouldn't say a highly recruited OL to say the least. We were basically the only team looking at him for the OL. He wasn't even a very highly recruited DT. Plus he hasn't left yet.

This post proves that YOU may be in over YOUR head in this topic.

The OL is NOT all freshman and sophomores, even if you take out Hebert. And why you think Porter was a highly recruited OL is beyond me.

AND...he still hasn't decided to leave. I haven't read every post, so forgive me if this has been stated. But Harry Coleman, ya' know, the starting LB from last year's squad, and one of the more productive members of the defense last season, took a greyshirt. He stuck it out and worked his way into a scholly, and had a fine career at LSU. This is not the end of the world for Porter.

Here is a link to the roster. Who besides Hebert is going to be on the 2nd OL that isn't a Fr or SO?

Yeah, you got me. I misread your post and thought you were saying the OL in general. But still, to suggest that Porter was a "highly recruited" OL displays that you shouldn't be telling anyone THEY are in over their head in the discussion...

The point was that continued attrition on the OL has left us with only young and inexperienced players to rely on for backups and for the last two season a shortage of quality starters. He seems to think we have been and are loaded with an SEC caliber start ready two deep which is far from the truth. Hopefully we can field an SEC quality one deep which would be a significant change from the recent norm.

I took his opinion to be that we have a lot of OL, which is correct. I never saw him state that we had blue chip depth. Next year will be the year, but the OL should be improved this season...just based on size and talent of the STARTERS.

    True.

    True.

 Just don't see where he claimed anything like "He seems to think we have been and are loaded with an SEC caliber start ready two deep". Sorry.

Oh, and Greg Shaw is a jumior, along with Hebert. That's two 2nd team OL that are not FR or SO.
