http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,202277,00.html So is Fox news a puppet of the Bush administration and making all of this up? Is Fox an American Propaganda machine? If some of this stuff ever turns out to be true some people around here have a lot of crow to eat!
Fat chance. Did you even read the story? It mentions that "an Arab regime, possibly Iraq" provided information on how Arabs could infltrate Afghanistan and techniques to blend in with the Pakistanis and Afghans (who are not Arabs). 1. Iraq is NOT named as the Arab country in question, there are about 15. Syrians, Saudis, Yemenis, and Libyans are all more likely candidates. 2. It is a manual for infiltrating Afghanistan, not the United States, which is not mentioned in the document. 3. The document was "translated and analyzed exclusively for Fox News" meaning it has no official status as an intelligence document. 4. The document is in no way attributed to be a government document, of Iraq or any other government. 5. The article finishes up by suggesting that Iraq had a secret "Unit 999" that was in league with Al Qaida, but the document in question makes no reference to either one and was not linked to them by the authors! Keep trying Sourdough.
Yes, I read the whole story and I said possibly Iraq on the title of this thread. You also assumed the other day that I said Osama and Saddam when I didn't. You seem to connect things I haven't said at times? I never said they were Arabs? Afghans and Pakistanis at that time were Taliban and Al Quada though some still are. Never said it was, Individuals from all those countries including Iraq could've been members of Al Quada or other terrorist extremist groups. Doesn't matter? Yep, agreed, I didn't say all of this was true, thats why i said Possibly and IF You forgot this part: training manual unearthed in captured Iraqi government computer files translated and analyzed exclusively for Fox News yep, agreed. Thats not very hard to do since some of have backed themselves into a corner with no way out if we get some new evidence. My stance here has always been the same. I take the wait and see approach before I jump against the countries reasoning for going to war. Like I've always said, 3 years since the war, heck even 6 years is a relatively short period of time to make discoveries in a country like Iraq. Heck, look how long it took to get the Unibomber or Rudolph captured in a much smaller area. History will tell the real story and theres no way I'll paint myself in a corner where theres no return, no life raft if you are wrong.
I mean if you were to pick a stance on the issue, and turned out to be wrong - you don't have to have a lifeboat or whatever, you could simply admit you were wrong.
