21-10 LSU. I cannot back down from a prediction I made all the way back to Spring ball. One score will be from special teams (via Holiday). LSU lines of scrimmage just too much for Auburn to overcome. Hatch 9-21, 113 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. LSU rushes 43 times for 196 yards and a TD. Auburn held to 188 total yards.
I just happen to be a believer, so I also took LSU by more than 15. You gotta believe in something, so might as well believe big. :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige
I voted for LSU by 1-7, but I'm feeling much more optimistic than that would indicate. I don't know why anyone that has seen both LSU & Auburn would not feel good about this game. LSU has a better offense & defense, and now with our punting & punt return game improving we may have better special teams as well. Auburn's defense is good, sure, but it's not that great. Their defensive backfield is not good enough to shut down our mediocre passing game, and while Scott's average ypc will certainly drop from what he's done to the patsies, it will still be around 4-5/ypc. Miss St's offense is flat out horrible - don't take much from that game. A light switch is not suddenly going to turn on for their offense. They won't score more than 10 on us. I say we win by 7 because we play very conservatively on offense knowing full well our defense can stop them. However, if the coaches were to open up we could see something of a blowout. LSU 14 AU 7 Fair warning: I felt almost as optimistic 2 years ago... My only concern for this game (outside of officiating) is how our QB's handle the pressure. I think they'll do fine though.
Our kicking game is much better than it gets credit for. Who cares if it only gets to the 10 - our team is on top of the guy before he has a chance to make anything of the return. We chose to kick it high & let it fall shorter for that reason.
Maybe 1 or 2, but I think we still see a very conservative offense for the Auburn game. We won't need to put many points on the board to win this one.
LSU by 15 or more pts. LSU by 8 - 14 pts. LSU by 1 - 7 pts. Auburn by 1 - 7 pts. Auburn by 8 - 14 pts. Auburn by 15 or more pts, LSU gets screwed by Auburn officials
