How far will we drop in the polls to start the season? Will we still be a top ten team or will we see a big drop to 16 or 17? I see no reason for a big drop as the rest of the team is very strong.

We will slide down a few spots I'm sure.. I wouldn't worry too much. Pre-season polls aren't too important (in my opinion).. the one that comes out the second week of Jan. is the one that really matters.

Well it's not likely to start off 16 or somewhere in that vicinity and rise all the way up to 1 or 2 come january.

Jimmy Ott was predicting a slide to somewhere in the 12-13 range.

Not that Jimmy Ott knows everything.

I disagree. If there's any time that what the pundits think in the preseason matters, it's college football preseason polls. It sets up the whole rest of the season.

Having said that, I think to be thinking about National Championship position right now would be setting myself up with completely unrealistic expectations. However, if we were somehow to run the table, where we start could end up making a HUGE difference.

You are wrong. Pre-season poll contribute to the ability of a team to have a good post-season game. If you are way down in the pre-season polls, you can just about forget the NC.

That's about what I was figuring, but we'll see.

I say drop to 9 or 10. Team still has talent and depth, thin at QB, LB, CB. I'm assuming we were 6 or 7 before.

I say we will probably just out of the top ten. Everyone will already have Georgia and Florida in the top 5-ish and we have to play both of them.

We'll be behind Auburn now, that makes us about #12.
