The article says Les was the subject of an investigation on two separate occasions. The fact that he reached an out of court settlement on the latest charge suggests to me that where there's smoke, there's fire.

This is not always the case, it probably is here because as Brian said; there has always been rumors. I used to feel the same way about people who take a plea deal in a court case, a great many times they actually are innocent and just don't want to risk it in court.

The fact that there are two allegations tells me that Les & his attorney reached the out of court settlement because they didn't want to go to court.

Or can't afford a good defense. This, obviously, is not the case with CLM, but I personally know several people who pissed off powerful people, were indicted, and took a plea because they couldn't afford 20K for a decent defense. I know a couple who pled because it would be expunged after a year and it was cheaper than an atty. It's a f'd up system where the powerful intimidate the less powerful.

I agree, but I can also see NDA's coming into play especially if we are talking about something like a 20 to 50k payoff to just shut up and go away. No courts, no media, just take this money and go about your life and all is well. The story I read said there is almost no record of any of this filed anywhere which sort of leads me in that direction. If the chic that got paid didn't have anything to do with this coming out I would imagine she hasn't violated any NDA that was signed. We will see how it plays out.

I didn't read the article. I'll read it when I get a chance. Still doing quotes for work.
