Saban himself said it was the poorest first half of defense he's seen played since he was at LSU. You just have the glasses on as do many others.
Auburn played a poor first half as well, I don't think that is going to hurt them any. I know their second half was more impressive than ours but we both got the same results, a W.
I never said that we played great, I said we played sloppy.... Islstl has been talking down about the Tigers after every game this season... Im just tired of hearing his pessimistic attitude. If the Tiger thought like him we would be 4-6 right now
I have seen nothing to make me feel any differently than islstl. We have had no consistency at any position this year, including the coaches! and that is the most frustrating thing of all.
Hmmmm... would you rather have a losing season, because you know I love only haveing 2 losses. As ugly as a win is, its better than losing... sometimes I think some of you would rather lose than win.
I'd like consistency. If we were Baylor or something you could blame it on the inability to recruit and coaching. We have no excuse.
Yea its not an excuse to only have 6 seniors... not an excuse to have a dope 5 year QB and a Freshman.... its not an excuse that fan expectation wrote checks our asses couldnt cash.... those guys go out there and play, they are young... be positive
You are fighting a losing battle, KTeam. A lot of guys here judge LSU by the way the score looks to people in other states. Winning is just not enough if you don't do it in a dominating fashion. As far as the Coaches poll, they know what it takes to get out there and gut out a win week after week. They know that an Ole Miss can get out there and play to their maximum ability in any given week. They know how tough it is to pull out 5 wins in a row despite numerous problems every week. In short, there is not a coach in the country who would want to play LSU next week because they know that, somehow, this team will find a way to win. I couldn't be more proud of this team.
If Hallman or DiNardo coached this team, we'd have lost every last one of our close games. Say what you what about these guys, but they don't quit and don't accept defeat--even going into the final minutes of games. They are young and dealing with a target on their backs that the Tigers haven't had in 45 years. We're 8-2. My own husband was talking smack last night when I said that we'd gone undefeated at home for the first time since I was two years old. He said, "You can hardly call that undefeated. You should've lost half of the games." I pointed out that years from now, no one would remember HOW we went undefeated at home--only that we did. I know "jack" about the '72 home season--nor do I care beyond the "undefeated" tag. And as for style points in the voting this year, that has come into play for some teams (LSU/AU, for example). But it's been ignored totally for others (USC and FSU come to mind immediately.) If we dropped after winning ugly against OSU, why didn't USC? There was no style to that win, either.
islstl how do you explain boise st moving up last week in both polls after barely beating a terrible san jose team in OT? did the voters give them a free pass because of the early (9 am) west coast start time? I don't think it's as scentific as you claim. although I will agree that VT may jump us, I see LSU moving up a couple of spots based on the losses by Mich, Wisc and FSU.
