3rd year in the Chavis system. A lot of instinct and that was as fast to the ball I've seen from the D overall.

Matthieu is the mini disruptor needed for these spreads. Reminds me a lot of the role Arenas played for us. Got to stop all those dink passes that end up being long hand offs in the spread.

The high tackling is what was getting us the fumbles. The flip side is missed tackles if he hangs on to the ball. Claiborne needs to learn to go for the tackle when he's alone out there. Go for the ball when your teammates are all around.

Matthieu reminds me a bit of Warren Capone. He was an undersized linebacker and not possessed of blazing speed. But boy did he have a nose for the ball. It allowed him to beat a lot of blocks and lay the wood on the ball carrier.

It's part of the game and I love it.

    He doesn't over do it.....

It's like MMA kinda IMO. They talk loads of chit and then shake hands after......

Noticed a stat that he's already 2nd in LSU history in forced fumbles. Wasn't he only lightly recruited coming out of high school? Did any other big time programs offer him a scholly?

He really does talk alot of trash he's always in someones face. With that being said I like it, he may take it a bit overboard sometimes but I say he is passionate about LSU and the game.
