LSU's white jerseys are a instantly recognizable uniform that, IMO, doesn't need to be touched--ever. However, I like the purple jersey's a little more this year...the purple seems less gaudy to me than the ones they used in the past.
We wore white against Georgia and Auburn last year! BAN THE WHITE BAN THE WHITE! Some people don't get it...
I like the purple better. I wouldn't even mind seeing the gold jerseys occasionally, if they tweaked them a little. Variety is good.

Tradition aside, what I think is more gaudy actually are the bright, neon yellow pants that we've had for years now. And that's what takes away from the purple jerseys. If our colors are purple and gold, then why are we passing off this hideous yellow as a school color? I'm willing to split the difference on the helmets (which are not really gold either), but the pants aren't even close! I don't think true gold (ala the 'Aints) on the pants and/or helmets would look that bad with the purple jerseys. Seems to work for the Huskies...
The "hideous yellow" is gold at LSU. Get used to it. Geez, why would we want to be like the Huskies or Notre Dame or the 50 other schools that wear antigue gold pants? Sheesh!
Purple with gold pants looks pretty cool. This get-up, however, is hideous! Just for fun, though, it would be hilarious to show up in Bama with this get-up.....turn the SEC on it's collective ear.
