This is Ronald Reagan's birthday...the man who had the nads to call the Soviet Union the evil empire and demand the Berlin Wall come down. He knew who and what the Russians were....that they needed to be confronted with strength BEFORE trying to work with them. He put medium range missles into Europe despite the Ds and leftys crying. He did this to the country whose collapse Putin calls the greatest tragedy of the 20th century. A country and system that Putin wants to revive. A country and system that killed 50 MILLION of its own. Putin a man who murders his enemies and has run roughshod over the people's right while enriching himself to the tune of billions. Compare him to Trump who justifies Putin's action by saying the USA does the same things, who thinks thuggery is a sign of strength. How can we expect anything better than the absolute failure we saw under Obama when it seems Trump has a similar lack of understanding of Putin? Where has the Republican Party gone if they don't repudiate this position?

Yes they allied with Russia and Stalin but only to survive against a worse threat in Hitler. FDR never forgot what a tyrant and murderer and thug he was. As I said Reagan negotiated with the USSR but only AFTER he established our position from a point of strength and he NEVER failed to understand it was the evil empire. Remember 'Trust but verify'?
