i think i should rephrase it saying theres no way to know what we have. one quarter and a half does not a qb make. nfl qbs look like joe montana one week then joe flacco the next. thats why nfl coaches age so quickly outside of jim mora. that dude is like 73 yrs old looks 53. still looks like this:
Fair enough statement. I hereby agree with the quarter and a half take. Now I will throw in a completely usesless cliche......"You are, however, only as good as your last 1 1/2 quarter played." You know you here it said like that all of the time.
Did not really read too much of the thread but I do not care who starts because it is a moot point. I do care about how the coaches will set the rotation because both will get their fair share every game. The coaches are looking for tendencies to see who feels more comfortable in each situation. I liked how Hatch came out a looked confident to start the game and ran a nice controlled offense. Lee came in in the 2nd and it was pretty bad but when he knew he was in for the long haul he calmed down and made great plays and looked confident. The key will be to make sure Lee understands that Hatch will be there to come in at some point but it is not necessarily because he made a mistake or two. I think Lee showed what he can do when he feels comfortable and if that continues he will get slightly more snaps per game. I think Hatch feels comfortable going in at any point but we still have not seen him in action with the game on the line like we saw with Lee this weekend. So as of now I would assume he would be called on again in that situation.
BatGirl - Where did I say this was a bad thing? Or am I wrong, and you're NOT a fan that believes in the coach? My bad for inferring that from your previous "trust the coaches" speech... Relax.
If it wasn't for the concussion I would say start Hatch...no question. JLee is going to have to show me more than 1 half of average football to make me a believer. That interception on the screen pass is probably the worst looking all around play in the history of college football for a variety of reasons. I agree that he looked A LOT more comfortable in the 2nd half of that game but like I said, he needs to show some consistency before he earns the clear cut starting job. He still watches his receiver the entire route before he throws it and if I end up going to a game this season and see him pump fake it to someone 3 times before throwing it to the opposite team, I will run on the field and kick him in the nuts. There is no excuse for that. I'd rather burn JJ's red shirt than sit in my house and yell at Jared Lorenzen's mentally retarded little brother for making the dumbest decision possible.
I was messing with you!! See the smiley faces??:lol::hihi::rofl: If I were truly mad at your statements I would have responded with, booo!!:angryfire :angry:hissss!! o: ban him!
Points taken, batty! For the record, I have no intention or desire to be a big-time college coach. My armchair is JUST too comfortable to give up...
Seems to me that if he hasn't arrived, he at least knows where he's going. That's a huge improvement over the first 5 halves of football. In the second half, he wan't a "deer in the headlights'.....he WAS the headlights....ldskule:
Lee would be the better choice at QB. Neither guy has had a lot of snaps, but Hatch has had more than Lee. I know Lee made the mistake early on, but he is still a rookie and I would rather that one mistake and have him learn from it and come out the second half and play the way he did than to have the offense run the way it does with Hatch.
