This works out totally for Miles. no fans, no band, and no wbrz/wafb. Maybe WBRZ will be there since they don't have credtionals(sp) for the Final FouR:hihi: :hihi:
For what it's worth from a coaching standpoint, my dad was a high school football coach for 30+ years, and he always said that scrimmages told the coaches a lot about what was going on with a team. My mom and I HATED attending pre-season scrimmages because they were SO boring, but Dad always told us that he learned more from a scrimmage format than a game, plus there was teaching going on between each play. That's also boring, but I thought I'd give you guys a reason why Miles might choose to play a scrimmage, instead of a game.
I wouldn’t mind going to the game to watch Matt Flynn solidify his starting role for this upcoming season. I wouldn’t mind watching RP take some snaps dropping Russell to third string after the game is over. It's sad that Russell got hurt and never bounced back. I would have hoped he was healthy during the off-season so he could work primarily on his leg strength. I was getting tired of watching defenders touch him and he flopped to the ground. It's going to be fun watching RP steamrolling defenders in the near near future. I wonder who the man will be at safety?
I read - I think on LSUSports.net - that anyone who bought tickets will get a refund since the scrimmage is now free to attend. And yep, that no one will be there will be just the way Miles likes it. But, withholding information has served him well at times so if that's the way he wants things, fine with me.
