Yay, I get to hear eight months of Ralph Nader raving about how evil corporations and capitalism are. Oh joy!

But in all seriousness, Ralph won't get the votes he got in 2000, and he got very little even then. He only made news because his vote total in Florida was more than the difference between Bush and Gore, but there is no guarantee those voters would have even voted had he not been in the race. Had they voted though, they indeed would have gone nearly three-to-one for Gore.

Some of the people who voted for Nader in 2000 will vote for him again, but most will go with the Green Party candidate (loyal Greens are very loyal). CB66 might be right about his supporters going to the Democratic nominee, be it Kerry or Edwards. Most Nader 2000 and Green Party voters are of the political persuasion that would allow them to develop a raw, seething, visceral hatred of President Bush and thus become ABB (Anybody But Bush) voters who will vote for the candidate most likely to unseat him, ie., the Democrat. It depends on how psycho their Bushate really is. The guys who think Bush=Hitler, well, the Dems can count on their votes. Just how many Nader supporters feel like this is unknown. We'll find out. Nader might also pull votes from Democrats who would vote for either one of the nutball candidates, Howard Dean or Dennis Kucinich. Those three all have supporters who are kind of on the same wavelength, if you get what I'm saying.

Bottom line; he won't get many votes. But in an election that's close, he doesn't have to to completely screw over the Democrats. He cost them two states in 2000, either of which would have meant a Gore victory, and he just might do that again.
