Honestly, I have not seen this bashing of which you speak. Now, saying the guy is not what LSU needs as a starting QB is just honest analysis. But, he is a hard worker, a solid leader, and an all-around good guy. We are lucky to have guys like Randall and Addai who have not backed down in the face of adversity in their careers. But, JR is the QB now. Let's hope he doesn't falter because we will not win the SEC West without Russell having success as our starter.
I think Randall is a great young man with a lot of character. He is a wonderful representative of the LSU team spirit. He is a team player. I wish he was the man to lead the offense this year since he has put in so much hard work, but he has never excelled and he has been given several opportunities. The fact is, Randall is an average QB at best. How many seniors at LSU are riding the bench so younger players can start? They have put in the same amount of sweat and blood that Randall has but I don't see anyone here suggesting that LSU sit younger more talented players just because they have earned the right to start. Why should Randall be any different? He has nothing to be embarrassed about, but Russell got the job done and is more talented therefore I'm hoping that Saban will let him start so at Auburn he will be ready to go.
I never said that Randall should be starting. In fact, if you read my original post I stated that Russell should be the starter. I just can't stand people bashing the character of this young man or booing from the stands. We are the defending National Champs and our first home game we start booing. What kind of crap is that?
