one thing about randall, he was a tough QB. never shyed away from making contact and delivering a blow instead of tip toeing out of bounds. I think with his experience as QB, SS could be his best shot in the pros. scott frost, remember that nebraska QB who I think played S for the jets? he may still be around. any other converted DBs from the QB position?

what is randall's 40 time? 4.5 or so? some of the top running backs in the draft ran that last year and werent as big as randall.. i think randall has enough wiggle to get a look at RB with some teams..

Good luck to LT who is a friend of mine,i dont think anyone played harder over the last 4 years.Jokingly i call him OUT OF BOUNDS for his hard play past the whistle LOL.MLB'S very seldom go first round even the best but i feel sure LT will be playing on sundays,he is mean as a cottonmouth.My heart goes out to Marcus i always rooted for him and he was one of the most unselfish players to ever wear the purple and gold.Look back at some of them runs he made,another tough SOB.Here is to hoping we get some more fine Louisiana homegrown talent like them to lead us to another NC.

Bill Bradley (UofTx QB) was one of the best DBs in the league with the Eagles. But, that was long ago. He's coaching at Baylor now, I believe.

Three LSU Defensive Stars To Play In 2005 Senior Bowl

Trio of outstanding NFL prospects who played major roles in the Tigers’ national championship season of 2003 – Marcus Spears, Corey Webster and Travis Daniels – will play for the South in the January 29 contest.

MOBILE, Ala. (January 12, 2005) -- A trio of premier defensive stars from LSU – defensive end Marcus Spears and cornerbacks Corey Webster and Travis Daniels – will represent the Tigers in the 2005 Senior Bowl, presented by Food World, game officials announced on Wednesday.

A two-time first-team All-American selection, Webster finished his career as one of the most decorated defensive backs in LSU history.

Named to the first-team All-American squads chosen by the AFCA and the Sporting News in 2004 and by the AFCA in 2003, he was also a three-time first-team All-SEC selection.

The 6-0, 197-pounder from Vacherie, La., also finished his career with 16 interceptions, which ranks second on the all-time school list.

Despite being injured in the Tigers’ season-opening victory over Oregon State and hampered by injuries throughout the year, he still registered 33 tackles and two interceptions during the year and was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Mississippi State when he made two tackles, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass in the 51-0 LSU victory.

As a junior in 2003, he developed into one of the nation’s top cover corners even though it was just his second year on the defensive side of the football after starting his LSU career as a receiver.

A second-team Associated Press All-American pick in 2003, he ranked second in the SEC with seven interceptions, added 46 tackles and ranked second in the SEC with 25 pass breakups.

He closed out the season with a stellar performance in LSU’s 21-14 Sugar Bowl victory over Oklahoma with two pass breakups and an interception, which set up LSU's first touchdown, as the Tigers won the national championship.

Named LSU’s Most Valuable Player in 2004, Spears also earned consensus All-American status as he was named to the first teams selected by Walter Camp and the AFCA.

The 6-4, 298-pounder from Baton Rouge, La., was also a semifinalist for the Lott Trophy and the Bednarik and Lombardi Awards.

A consensus two-time first-team All-SEC selection, he had one of the most dominating seasons for a defensive lineman in the history of the LSU in 2004 as he recorded nine sacks to go along with 17 tackles for losses.

He also added 49 tackles and 21 quarterback hurries for a Tiger defense that ranked third in the nation in total defense (256.9 yards per game).

As a junior in 2003, he earned first-team All-SEC honors after recording 49 tackles, 13 of which went for 72 yards in losses, added six quarterback sacks and 19 quarterback pressures.

He also scored what proved to be the game-winning points in LSU's Sugar Bowl victory over Oklahoma with a 20-yard interception return in the third quarter which gave the Tigers a 21-7 lead.

Spears finished his career with 152 total tackles, 34.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, and 19 quarterback sacks, which ranks fifth all-time in LSU history.

Daniels teamed with Corey Webster to give LSU arguably the best set of cornerbacks in the nation.

A former safety who successfully made the transition to cornerback during the 2003 season, he recorded 48 tackles, 28 solos, and nine pass breakups during the year.

During LSU’s championship season in 2003, the 6-1, 194-pounder from Hollywood, Fla., set a school record with 26 pass breakups. After starting at safety for the first six games, he moved to corner for the championship run and finished the season with 58 tackles including four against Oklahoma in the national championship game.

Tickets to the contest sell for $24, $18 and $12 each and are currently on sale at all area Food World stores, selected AmSouth Bank locations and the Senior Bowl ticket office in the Riverview Plaza Hotel in downtown Mobile.
