As long as there is a dry field.

Really ? I don't recall Mauck or LSU having the reputation as a full time option team. :D

I can think of La Tech where we used it...and I can also remember running it against Florida when the rest of the offense was breaking down. I can remember using it against OU, as well...and UGA...Trust me, we've actually visited this subject last year, and the validity of installing it as a part of our offense. The reasons I just gave were the collective opinion of the Forum last year...

Okay somewhere in all of this there might be some good points. but right now I am pissed off listening to the Saints snatch one from the jaws of victory.

I was not questioning the coaching staff at all, not one bit, and if thats what you read then you are sadly mistaken. I even said that Randall is GREAT in practice but not in the games.

I was expressing my views only the love fest that some of these people on this board have with Randall, saying he DESEVERS to start. WHAT has he done to desever anything? So he has been a back-up, he better get use to it cause IF, and this is a HUGE IF, he gets drafted thats is all he will ever be. I'm not saying he is a bad quaterback, cause we have all seen WORSE, but he does not PREFORM well in the GAMES.

But I understand the coaching staffs postion in starting him since really all they have to go on is practices and scrimmages where Randall is at his best. But all the morons that sit on this site and say Saban owes it to him to start cause of the time he has put in, well be the first ones to want his head on a platter when, not if, he does screw up. Hint Hint Josh Booty.

I always enjoy reading your post and I know you conrtibute alot here but you are dead wrong on your assement of my post.

istlstl, I'm not saying that we were an option team...I'm saying that we ran it from time to time...As something you had to prepare for...I can't help you if you forget we ran option enough last year that on 4th & 2 against the Gators at home in our only loss, Matt Mauck was stopped for no gain on an option keeper.

We ran the option, and we'll have to run it again.

    Forgive yourself, you amnesiac...

OK, then...Show me where someone on this site has said Randall deserves to start.

    Just one instance...

Lots of people who believe like you continually say that Saban & others here are saying that Randall deserves to start, but I don't see anyone here that says Randall deserves to start because he's a 5th year senior, as you're saying...

Just one example of one person who said that he deserves to start because he's a 5th year senior...You have mentioned multiple people on this site and elsewhere...Point me out to one individual who has. Not many, as you say. Just one.

and randall hasnt deserved his? the guy has played behind booty, davey, mauck, rick clausen and now jamarcus russell, and how many times did he complain about it, umm lets see, hes never complained about playing time ever, hes quietly led the team and never caused any problems, after russell threw that td pass to skyler guess who was one of the first to greet him, MARCUS RANDALL, if you watch the game tape, the first half you tell me one time where he was not knocked down, the offensive line was awful last night, he had zero running game, and the play calling was reminiscent of ole miss 01 hes had 5 years of practice, basically all that time just to sit on the bench, yea russell deserves playing time for what he did, but lets not forget randalls 5 years of pain and sacrafice, ups and downs, over one bad half of football, this is marcus randall's team right now lets give him a chance, and not all go into the rebuilding phase just because marcus had a bad HALF of football, you know he kinda won the game by coming in there, after being booed at by his HOME STADIUM, taken out, to listen to the cheers for russell, and he still comes in, cool and collected to score that winning score, randall has earned his shot, and lets see what he can do next week, on a dry field, with a running game and a much better gameplan

This is just one like you asked but if you go to page 7 in the days after the OSU game there are more, I didn't post anything then cause I was giving him a shadow of a doubt, but now and going into AU we need someone that is not gonna choke like Randall has done under pressure.

AND DAMN it the Saints suck

TE, I think I got your point, was merely suggesting that a part-time commitment to an option attack has traditionally shown to be marginally ineffective. JC Watts, perhaps the greatest option QB in the history of CFB, has stated that you cannot consistently win with an option attack with anything less than 100% commitment to it. The timing is a critical component and certain risks (turnovers) cannot be nullified without extensive practice sessions.

That being said, I still don't see why the LSU staff would resort to an option attack when it likely isn't needed. Remember, LSU could burn valuable practice time on an option and would be unlikely to benefit from it. AU's defense is measurably faster than last season, but not as experienced. Most of these kids saw the option in HS though. Just my $0.02 :thumb:

    I mean come on

I am not one of this idiots on here that just open their mouth and let the crap flow. I can and do read and have a pretty good memory.

And I got a question how come all of a sudden it seems coaches want this 2 qb system.

You would have never heard of this last year but now it seems like the fad.
